Kong Swivel Anchor Connector (7/10)
Pro’s - All 316 stainless steel. Easy to connect.
Con’s - Pin tended to unscrew. Even with Loctite, we lost an anchor at sea. The pin falling out and the anchor dislodging, never to be seen again.

Mantus Swivel S2 (9/10).
Pro’s - All 2205 duplex stainless steel. Easy to connect. Love the idea of no screws, huge winner for us. 
Con’s - None to date. Going strong as our primary chain-to-anchor connector.

Our Experience With the Mantus Anchor Swivel: Performance, Strength & Cruising Review

Our cruising sailboat demands a highly reliable anchoring setup capable of handling rapidly changing conditions, from calm anchorages to sudden 35-knot winds lasting several days, while securely holding a 21-tonne vessel.

For primary anchoring, we rely on a Rocna 33 anchor connected to the chain via a Mantus Marine S2 swivel. The bridle is then secured using the Mantus Marine Boat Chain Hook. No, I am not sponsored by them (our detailed review of the Mantus Boat Chain Hook).

As a secondary backup, we also carry a Kong swivel anchor connector for additional redundancy.

All components are correctly sized for our vessel, providing confidence across the anchoring system down to the next potential point of failure, the connection between the bridle and the anchor chain.
